1. Cliff’s Edge
Located in the very cool Silver Lake neighborhood of LA is a restaurant with a beautiful, very well established bar, and they’ve just received a Wine Enthusiast Magazine award for Best 100 Wine Restaurants in the USA, specifically for their Wines By The Glass program. In terms of price, there are wine by the glass from $10-42 (in their Coravin program, a Clos Figures Clos Figueres, Priorat 2009), with a good number of wines in the $12-14 sweet spot. 2. Bar Moruno
Bar Moruno at Grand Central Market, brings a unique style of upscale casual dining to a historic site in Downtown Los Angeles. The warm, vibrant flavors of the southern Spanish inspired menu is supported by a wine list focusing on Spain and the South of France. Prices by the glass range from $8 to $14.

3. Same Same
Thai food & wine bar Same Same is located in Silver Lake on Sunset Blvd. Same Same has become a beloved hipster hangout since opening its doors in April 2016. The bar features wines curated by operations group Last Word Hospitality from around the world and is about a two ($$) in price. Favorite wines include the Basque Txakolina, poured from four feet above to help aerate each glass.
4. Esters Wine Shop & Bar
This Wine Bar in Santa Monica, CA is from the celebrated Rustic Canyon Family of Restaurants, and has become one of the most popular wine bars in the city since it opened in July 2015. There are over 200 wines available for sale, a retail component with all sorts of artisanal products ideal for stocking up for a dinner party or picnic, and the food is done by Rustic Canyon’s acclaimed chef Jeremy Fox.
Pricing is about a “3,” as wines by the glass are in the $13-25 range. The selection rotates and features wines from a lot of boutique producers. You can also buy any bottle in the store and enjoy on-site (corkage is $15), so they have bottles for purchase under $25.
